President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda in 2023 November 7 visited Pakruojis. The President's agenda included, among other issues, a meeting with the management of AB Detonas, a company that produces explosives.

AB Detonas manager Vaidas Zubavičius and head of the commercial department Dovydas Šiaučiūnas took part in the meeting with the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanus Nausėda. During the meeting, the possibility of AB Detonas to start the production of explosives for the military sector, to become a part of Lithuanian defense and military industry and to supply explosives to the national defense system, was discussed. During the meeting, the President emphasized that, with the ongoing war in Ukraine, strengthening the local defense industry becomes a common priority for the country. During the meeting, other ways in which AB Detonas could contribute to the progress of the Lithuanian defense industry and participate in the reconstruction programs of Ukraine were discussed. The mayor of Pakruoj district, Saulius Margis, who participated in the meeting, emphasized that the development of the company would bring significant benefits to the economic development of the district.
